Coronavirus tracker: California reported 2,547 new cases and 80 new deaths as of April 15

According to end-of-day totals from California public health websites for Thursday, April 15, there were 2,547 new cases of the coronavirus reported, bringing the total number of cases there have been to 3,686,137.

There were 80 new deaths reported statewide for a total 60,455 people who have died from the virus.

Hospitals saw a decrease of 29 patients on Thursday, lowering the total number of people hospitalized with coronavirus-related illness to 2,186.

California has administered 24.2 million shots since Dec. 15, of which 9.6 million people, or 23.9% of the state, are fully vaccinated. Two of the three vaccine options out there require two doses.
