Robotic fingertip has human-like sense of touch

A 3D-printed robotic fingertip contains structures that allow it to touch and feel surfaces using the same principles seen in human skin. Researchers at the University of Bristol, UK, hope to employ the technology in prosthetic hands to give them an in-built sense of touch, and to boost the tactile abilities of robots, thereby improving their dexterity.
